Kaspersky is finally getting ready to release the next major version of the famous Kaspersky anti malware suit. Already the team have started beta testing the version 2012 which have a lot of new features and a major redesign. When you speak about the interface, trust me, it have really cool effects to surprise you! After adding some spices and doing some stirring, it will be ready for everyone really soon!
Recently, many people have started to develop cloud based antivirus products which will give you realtime protection by taking data from millions of people (including you) which have the software installed. Many people like Panda started to develop this as a completely different product. But Kaspersky 2012 will come with cloud protection integrated into their normal products. So, double protection!
Anti virus systems like Norton have a functionality to check the reputation of a file if you have doubts. Now Kaspersky also have added a similar feature to version 2012. Now Kaspersky allows you to right click and Check the file reputation in KSN (Kaspersky Security Network (The Cloud)) if you have any suspicions. If you have further doubts, you can simply scan the file!
They have also improved the strength of their anti phishing module with KSN. Now, the websites you visit will be checked with the KSN and the Kaspersky lab server. If they failed to provide any information, then the site is scanned for any threats. Kaspersky have also improved the URL advisor module. Now they will show the reputation of the site right next to your search results.
Not only that, they have also improved the protection against unknown threats with System Watcher which will collect information from all the other modules to do its job. The rootkit detection of Kaspersky 2012 have also been improved.
When it comes to the interface, they have done a really great job! Earlier, we have a Kaspersky which had a left sidebar containing the links and the rest of the screen shows the settings. Now, they have broken the tradition! The home screen is simplified. Now, it directly gives a small summary to your system’s status and the links have been moved to the bottom. A cool and a minimal interface with great effects! At first, you’ll see how Kaspersky can perform 3D flips! You’ll get what im talking about when you install the software! You can also see this cool effect on the scans.. Try to stop a running scan and you’ll see what im saying.
When you look at all these effects, you’ll think this new version will take a lot of resources. But Kaspersky says that it’s designed to take fewer resources than its previous versions. Not only that, if you have a touch screen, then you are going to get a big gift. Kaspersky 2012′s new interface have also designed to support touch systems. Cool isn’t it?
